Wireless IFB

Interruptible Fold Back, (IFB) is a means of allowing talent or technicians to monitor program and receive direction or information usually via an earpiece or headset.

IFB is very useful in television and live events or other applications where the user requires direction or information that would otherwise distract the audience.

Interrupt Fold Back is critical to direct and cue the news and weather anchors, field reporters, hosts, and stage announcers. The user or talent can be informed of any breaking information and immediate changes in the program.

Popular IFB systems use VHF and UHF low power FM radio signals to transmit the information. IFB can be a used in a “stand alone” application but is most often interfaced with an intercom or an audio system.
